Making Prayer a Priority in LifePrintable Copy

Colossian 4:2-4
New International Version(NIV)

2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.

1) Period of time for prayer - find a time when you are at your best  Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, Colossians 4:2-4

2) A place to pray - setting a special room or place to pray.  Matthew 6:5-6

3) Plan  what to pray - create a prayer list of requests with dates along with answers to these prayers.
      - Be thankful to God for the good and the bad
      - pray for guidance in life and in scripture
      Matthew 6:7-15, Ephesians 6:18

We need to pray regularly and with dedication.  Yes we should live in prayer, praying always.  Also we need a special time for only talking to God.  This will make prayer a priority in life

This will give us:

     - intimacy with God
     - guidance in everything
     - understanding of who we are praying to
     - see things in God's perspective
     - we will grow spiritually
     - we will be fruitful
     - learning to be thankful and patient
