3 Steps to Claiming God's Promises

Psalms 37:4
New International Version(NIV)

⁴ Take delight in the LORD,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
 

1) Faith - Have faith in God

2) Obedience - be obedient to God

3) Patience - wait for God's timing

There are two reasons we ask or claim one of God's promises.  The first being a need in our life.  The second being a desire of ourselves. A need becomes absolutely essential in our life.  A desire is something personal we want but not essential.  Of the two types of promises in the Bible, one being conditional (Psalm 37:4) , another being unconditional (Philippians 4:19).  Any promise we claim with God is not something to lead us to sin.

     Example: if we ask for a new car that we can show off to others, Vanity becomes our sin, and
                    the promise cannot be claimed.

Applying the 3 steps will help us see promises spiritually!
